Satyanarayana Puja

Ekadashi (11th day of lunar cycle) and Pournami (Full moon day) are supposedly very auspicious to perform Satyanarayana puja.

One invites their friends and relatives, prepares a set of offerings (naivedyam), decorates the altar and performs the puja with devotion, eats and distributes the offering to friends and relatives and listens to the story to reap benefits! Usually, the above are mixed together in small quantities in a bowl and served. In some cultures, this offering is called as Shinni.
