Benjamin Franklin

The Founding Father was an inventor, creating solutions to common problems, innovating new technology, and even making life a little more musical.

Read his biography with kids for their school project. Wow.. what a life..! it is rare to have lived during interesting times, it is even rare to have sowed the seeds for interesting times.. the Best role model I have read about who has been an inventor, scientist, negotiator, leader.. best of all started the revolution in thought process, increased his circle of influence to change the world – from individuals to countries.. 🙂

Benjamin Franklin

He made a musical instrument that was used by Beethoven and Mozart. His musical invention is his “glass armonica,” an instrument designed to replicate the otherworldly sound that a wet finger makes when rubbed along the rim of a glass.

He spent half his life in retirement not worrying about making money, but following his passion in whichever topics inspired him

He grew up working with his brother in a printing press and supported him in running the press and publishing a newspaper. He also starting developing an interest for writing during this time. His writings had a rebellious nature and made people rethink about some of the fundamental morals, values and societal norms.

The U.S. postal system is established by the Second Continental Congress, with Benjamin Franklin as its first postmaster general. He put in place the foundation for many aspects of today’s mail system.

Despite being almost entirely self-taught, Franklin later helped found the school that became the University of Pennsylvania and received honorary degrees from Harvard, Yale, the College of William and Mary, the University of St. Andrews and Oxford.

He donated his assets to Boston and Philadelphia to be used for the local tradesmen and distributed 100 years later. The assets amounted to over 6.5 million dollars in 1990s, that have been used by the states to setup the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia and Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology in Boston. Additionally scholarship funds have been setup in the 1990s

A life well lived inspires multiple generations! We have so much to learn from such leaders!
