Learning through innocent conversations

Today, I had an opportunity to converse with a very innocent person. In a world that often moves too fast, where conversations are shaped by agendas, assumptions, and distractions, there is something quietly refreshing about conversing with an innocent person.

I realized that an innocent person possesses a sincerity that has not been overshadowed by cynicism. They listen with genuine curiosity, ask questions without hidden motives, and respond with honesty instead of calculation.

There was a rare sense of ease. There was no need to decode every word or search for ulterior meanings. Their thoughts were unfiltered by pretense, creating a space for authenticity.

She was seeing “wonder” where others saw routine. She found joy in simple moments, appreciated small acts of kindness, and reminded me of perspectives I have long forgotten while navigating my teens. Through her eyes, familiar things felt new again.

Perhaps the greatest gift innocent people offer is a gentle reflection of what humanity can be at its best—trusting, hopeful, and open-hearted. Their energy is raw, and their presence encourages us to lower our guard, speak more honestly, and remember that wisdom is not always found in complexity. Sometimes it is found in simplicity.

A conversation with an innocent person may not always be the most sophisticated, but it is often among the most memorable. Long after the words are forgotten, the feeling remains: a quiet reminder that kindness, sincerity, and wonder still have a place in the world. A reality that human mind can be stretched in any direction, while being driven in one facet of life, it can remain humble and retain its innocence in all others facets of life.

I realized in the process that not every heart is guarded, not every question hides an agenda, and not every conversation needs a winner.

We need more such people amongst us, to make us think and create an environment where we learn to thrive & coexist, while being our best.

Thankful for the opportunity, filled with gratitude, I continue to learn 🙏🏻
