Amelia Bedelia stories

A nice collection of stories for young readers!

I remember reading one of these stories with my kids. It was about the main character Amelia Bedelia, who used to explore. This book was about her exploring to bake cookies.

The story beautifully weaves around her journey to find a nice recipe to bake cookies. She compiles all the ingredients and sets off her baking spree.

She adds some flour, some sugar, some eggs, some baking powder, some vanilla essence and mixes it. The flour falls all over her, on the counter and all over the kitchen. Everything looks completely messy.

The author must have enjoyed writing this piece, having explored baking as a novice themselves. This exploration inspires one to bake cookies.

Yesterday was one of those days. My daughter, who once read the book as a child, ventured into baking cookies. She ended up like Amelia, with a messy kitchen and a tray full of mixed ingredients. The dough did not set properly. It was absolutely not in the right consistency to bake.

She goes “Ma – Fix it” 😊😊😊

I started laughing looking at her baking tray, just like I had laughed reading Amelia’s story years ago.

Not all cookies are as beautiful as the pictures online or in baking shows. The process is totally fun. It is worth trying, no matter how they turn out. 😊

I learned that from Amelia’s stories and experienced it multiple times!

Her cookies – after “fixing” the batter and baking them.. fresh from the oven!
