Rebecca was on her way to an important job interview in the city.
She had prepared for weeks and believed this opportunity would change her life. But that morning, she got delayed in traffic and missed the train by just a few minutes.
Frustrated and near tears, she sat on a bench at the station, feeling as though her dreams had slipped away. As she waited for the next train, an older gentleman sat beside her and struck up a conversation. He was warm, kind, and genuinely interested in her story.
They started conversing. The man asked about her skills, her ambitions, and her vision for the future. Their conversation lasted for long, till they heard the announcement for the next train. Pleased, the gentleman handed her his card. He said, “I don’t usually do this. I think you’d be perfect for a project we’re starting. Call my office tomorrow.”
Rebecca looked at the card and was stunned. It belonged to the Vice President of a company even bigger than the one she was originally interviewing with. Missing the train had led her straight to a far greater opportunity.

Rebecca thought to herself “Strange are the ways of destiny! What are the odds that I miss my train? He is waiting for someone else at the same station. I have the exact skills he is looking for in his project. I end up missing my job interview. Instead, I land this opportunity!”
