Human population touches 8 billion today (November 15, 2022)
Human race was 2.5 Billion in 1950 and now, in 2022 we are 8 Billion strong! Thanks to the excellent healthcare, scientific & medical progress, and hygiene our longevity seems to have increased!
- Population growth has slowed: It took 12 years for the global population to climb from 7 billion to 8 billion, according to the U.N. We will not reach 9 billion for about 15 years.
- Half of the population still lives in just 7 countries: China, India, the U.S., Indonesia, Pakistan, Nigeria and Brazil. India’s population could surpass China any time soon!
Growing at a slower pace, world population is expected to reach 9.7 billion in 2050 and could peak at nearly 11 billion around 2100– United Nations
Just a few years earlier than the 2011 projection!
