Quick to make and loved by all – Chow mein (chinese noodles) can be good for a rainy day or quick dinner 🙂
Let us look at the ingredients needed (Serves 2-3)
Ingredients | Quantity |
Noodles | 1 packet |
Green chilli sauce | 3 tsp |
Dark Soya sauce | 3 tsp |
Ginger paste | 1 tsp |
Garlic paste | 1 tsp |
Black pepper ground | 1 tsp |
Salt | 3 tsp (Adjust as needed) |
Oil (Vegetable) | 2 tbps |
Carrots thinly sliced | 2 |
Green peppers (Capsicum) thinly sliced | 2 |
Onions thinly sliced | 2 |
Spring onions chopped | 2-3 |
- One crockpot to boil water and cook the noodles in boiling water for about 5 minutes and drain the water
- In a wok or large stir fry pan, heat the oil and add the onions, carrots, green peppers to it
- While stir frying the vegetables, add the ginger & garlic paste, ground black pepper, green chilli sauce and soya sauce
- Add the drained noodles into the wok
- Mix the noodles and stir fry vegetables
- Add the spring onions and salt
- Mix it well and let it cook for 5 minutes and take it out. Ready to serve

Variations that we like:
- For non-vegetarians – add chicken striips and fry it with the vegetables before adding noodles
- Adding baby corn, chopped bok choi, broccoli, shredded cabbage, mushrooms, tofu, green peas to the stir fry and customizing it
