Five simple recipes for next week
1. Roasted potato with butter & herbs
Cut into big chunks and sautéed in butter with herbs, pepper & salt. Add a pinch of turmeric & chilli powder in the butter for a spicy taste!
Prep: 5 minutes & Cooking time: 15 minutes
2. Mashed potatoes with herbs
Peel and boil potatoes and mash them while hot. Add milk/cream, pepper & salt with chopped herbs. Chopped cilantro garnish tastes great. Finely chopped shallots also go well with this!
Prep: 5 minutes & Cooking time: 20 minutes
3. baked Potatoes with cheddar cheese
Slice the large potatoes (like below). Pour melted butter over it and bake it for 15 minutes. Mix cheddar cheese with pepper salt, and herbs (rosemary/thyme/chives). Sprinkle on top of each potato and let it bake for another 15-20 minutes. Tastes great!
Prep: 10 minutes & Cooking time: 30 minutes
4. Baked & stuffed russet potato
Wash the potato well, rub it with oil (vegetable/canola) and let it bake for 30 minutes. Slit the baked potato and stuff it with filling of your choice. Nacho cheese, cheddar cheese, cilantro, diced tomatoes etc. Add Salt & pepper to taste.
Prep: 5 minutes & Cooking time 30 minutes.
5. Potato strips
Also knowns as shoestring potatoes. Cut the potato into thin strips and deep fry it till golden & crispy. After removing from oil & draining, sprinkle some salt on it and serve.
Serving with ketchup, nacho cheese and ranch!
