Customer service – Smile

Interesting incident with one of the customer service reps recently made me smile… literally 🙂

My daughter lost her phone and I was trying hard to get it replaced. Of course, I had the replacement protection plan thankfully and although it would be a simpler ordeal, this was taking hours with the customer service waiting on the call, listening to the beyond-a-few-hours-not-so-peaceful music 🙂

The customer service rep who joins the call then asks a few questions and I was put on hold again! Then, the issue was resolved and the next product marketing pitch started!

My frustration was starting to rise.. after all it was two hours straight on one call and a 3 hour call the previous day! The customer rep sensed my frustration and asked “Can I ask you one final question before you disconnect?” and I say “Yes…. please go ahead”.

And very nicely, he asked “Can I ask you to smile for the rest of the day please”. I smiled and broke into a laughter 🙂 Yes. sometimes our reminders can come from those who interact with! And I did end up quoting this incident and smiling 🙂

I did not miss passing on the favor to those around me 🙂
