When Pushyami star (Nakshatra) falls on a Thursday, it is celebrated as Guru Pushyami. It is known to be quite auspicious.

Especially, the Guru Pushyami that comes just before Diwali, is known to be extremely auspicious. In 2024, this combination occurs on October 24th.

The belief is that “Anything that we do, will increase multifold”.
