Kashmiri Kahwa

Perfect recipe for winter days!


  • 4 tsp Kashmiri green tea
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon powder (or a small cinnamon stick)
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
  • 2-4 cloves
  • 4-5 pinches of saffron strands
  • 6-8 almonds blanched and finely chopped
Kashmiri green tea leaves


Boil 3 cups of water with cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, saffron and sugar

Pour it over the Kashmiri green tea

Leave it on a low flame for 2-3 minutes and switch off the stove

Dissolve saffron in some hot water by rubbing it gently

Strain the tea and add the saffron liquid with the crushed almonds

Serve it hot!

variations and tips

Add some grated ginger to the boiling water to help relieve headaches!

Do not boil the tea leaves for too long, the tea will taste bitter.
