There are different types of pains and aches that can occur in the mouth / teeth.
- Gum pain: If you have swollen gums and you need to soothe the pain as soon as possible – Dentist appointment is taking time and you / your children need to be able to speak comfortably soon.. then use this quick tip. Take a pinch of asafoetida and mix it with a few drops of water to make a thick paste. Apply the paste on the outer side of the gum area (on the cheek). Wait for about 20-30 minutes and wash it off. The gum pain subsides. Orajel is another alternative.
- Sides of tongue have blisters: Apply few drops of castor oil on the sides where there are blisters, wait for 15 minutes and gargle with warm salt water. Check your diet and see if you are eating too much of fatty food and balance your diet. The blisters will go away.
- Blisters on the inside of your cheeks: Mix a spoon of ghee with some sugar and apply that mixture on the blisters (inside of cheek). This should have a soothing effect. Check your diet and reduce fatty and spicy food. Eating a banana for 2-3 days helps as well.
